It appears that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the band of choice for Seattle tech giants this summer.
After performing last month at a private concert for thousands of Amazon.com employees at CenturyLink Field, the Seattle rap group was in Redmond today for a Microsoft-sponsored concert celebrating the launch of Windows 10.

Wanz, the 54-year-old who sings the hook on “Thrift Shop,” was also on stage. As we detailed in a profile of Wanz last week, the musician spent 11 years working for Microsoft as a software test engineer.
Wanz was tearing it up at the #macklemore concert today! He also was a Microsoft engineer, which is sweet. A photo posted by Adam Avery (@adamlovesmoonshine) on
Macklemore also sang “Growing Up,” a new single he released last week about having his first child, for the first time at a live concert.

Apparently there was also unlimited beer:
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are no strangers to performing at concerts hosted by tech companies, having played for Amazon last month, at a private T-Mobile party last year, and another concert for AT&T at CES in 2014. Microsoft-related events seem to be a frequent stop for the duo, who have played at launches for Xbox One and physical Microsoft Stores in the past. The song “Can’t Hold Us,” was also the soundtrack for Microsoft’s Outlook.com campaign in 2013.
As for Windows 10, Microsoft released its newest operating system two weeks ago. Windows 10 is available as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows 8 users for the next year.
