Lying about anything while you’re reporting, or fudging the facts, or “misremembering,” is totally not OK. So it’s no surprise that everyone’s favorite “cool” dad and news anchor Brian Williams is in a lot of hot water this week when he admitted that he “made a mistake” recalling where he was during a 2003 report from Iraq.
Here’s a quick recap: Williams said he was in an aircraft that was under fire; instead he was safely in another. And he got called out on Facebook about it by one of that first aircraft’s crew members: “Sorry, dude, I don’t remember you being on my aircraft. I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened.”
It’s causing quite the scandal. Heck, even Tom Brokaw wants “Williams’ head on a platter,” an NBC source told Page Six of the New York Post.
