SpaceX keeps on making headlines this week. Today it released footage of a Falcon 9 rocket crash-landing into a barge, which they posted on Vine and CEO Elon Musk announced via Twitter.

The botched landing attempt happened last week in the Atlantic Ocean, which Musk called “close, but no cigar.” One of SpaceX’s many projects is engineering rockets that can land, therefore being able to reuse them for space missions, saving boatloads of cash. There are more rocket launches and landings in the near future, too, according to Musk’s’ follow-up tweet.

Earlier this week, SpaceX announced it would be opening offices in Redmond and hiring up to 1,000 employees. This is turning out to be a most thrilling company to watch. We can’t wait to see what they do next. Stay tuned.
