Google parent Alphabet and Lyft will work together on self-driving technology. The New York Times reported Sunday that Waymo, the self-driving unit of Alphabet, will partner β€œto bring autonomous vehicle technology into the mainstream through pilot projects and product development efforts.”

Lyft may still trail Uber in the ride-hailing market, but it has inked key partnerships in the past few years β€” today with Alphabet, and last year with GM, which invested $500 million in the company.

Also noteworthy: Waymo is currently battling Uber in court over self-driving technology.
