Late night television star Conan O’Brien is in Seattle for the holidays and, apparently in need of traveling the one mile between Seattle Center and Westlake Mall, he skipped walking, Uber, LimeBike, limo and whatever else for the good ol’ Monorail.
In a tweet Thursday afternoon, O’Brien said “there’s only one way to travel” in the city as he pointed at a sign marking the entrance to the Monorail, the elevated transit option built for the 1962 World’s Fair.

O’Brien, a former writer and producer for “The Simpsons” in the early 1990s, couldn’t help but add a reference to the animated series. According to Urban Dictionary, the hashtag #HoJu goes back to an episode during the fourth season, called “Marge vs. the Monorail” in which Homer Simpson becomes a monorail conductor and suggests that Bart change his name to Homer Junior.
“The kids can call you HoJu,” Homer said.
O’Brien, who is currently the host of “Conan” on TBS, married his wife Liza Powel in Seattle in 2002.
Update: The Monorail people were pleased that O’Brien stopped by, and even offered him a closer look at how it all works:
