Original story: An oddly-proportioned Teddy bear that is for sale on Amazon became a viral sensation last week when people started sharing images of it on social media and outlets such as Buzzfeed picked up on the reviews. Now we’ve spotted a very similar one in the wild, near Seattle.
The Jofay Giant Teddy Bear stands 6 feet 5 inches tall — and a good deal of that height comes from its freakishly long legs. The ad on Amazon says the “soft silky giant” — which sells for $129.99 — “offers more huggability than your average bear.”
While the majority of the Amazon reviews for the product are over four stars, some reveal that buyers kind of wish the huggability was spread out, like through the torso, perhaps.
And on Twitter, the hysteria was only amplified. People were losing their minds, dying laughing, or just “f***ked up for a good 3 or 4 minutes.”

At the Goodwill thrift store in downtown Everett, Wash., GeekWire contributor Tim Ellis’ wife Jeni Ellis spotted a large, brown bear, slouching on a piece of furniture with one of its legs extended.
Priced at only $15, this particular bear was an 88-percent savings compared to the price of a Joyfay model on Amazon — if you’re into used stuffed animals.
The bears that are already out there definitely have longer legs than this story. A spokesperson for Joyfay told Buzzfeed that the bear “has been improved” and no longer has long legs.
