Microsoft’s summer interns got more than just a beautiful night at Gas Works Park on Thursday, overlooking Lake Union and downtown Seattle. Pop stars Pitbull and Julia Michaels performed as part of the company’s Signature Event.
The @MicrosoftJobs Twitter feed said the event was to celebrate the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant’s interns and “the amazing work they’ve done this summer.”
In 2015, Microsoft surprised interns with a Maroon 5 concert, also at Gas Works. In the ultra-competitive world of tech recruiting these days, staging a big-name act in a park overlooking the city might just do the trick. Amazon, for instance, will be treating its 45,000 Seattle employees to a post-Prime Day concert featuring Demi Lovato at CenturyLink Field on July 19.
Posts across social media, many using the hashtag #microsoftlife, included photos and videos of the party scene on Thursday.
