Bizible’s highly anticipated and very competitive annual Whirlyball tournament in 2016.

When Bizible was just an idea taking shape for co-founder Aaron Bird, he already understood the value of offering health benefits for the young company.

“We offered employee benefits from day one,” says the chief executive of the Seattle-based SaaS company. “We have to compete with the likes of Google and Microsoft for developers, so employee benefits have always been a top priority.”

Aaron Bird, CEO and co-founder of Bizible

Bird co-founded Bizible in 2011 – along with Chief Technical Officer Peter Thompson and Head of Success Andy Turman – to fill a void they noticed when working on ad platforms at Microsoft.

“We became aware of a fundamental breakdown in connecting marketing to revenue,” Bird says. After completing TechStars in 2012, Bizible is now pioneering the marketing performance management space with revenue attribution and planning software to help B2B marketing teams answer the simple question “what’s working?” and “where should I invest my budget?”

Supporting Families as They Grow with the Business

To Bird and his co-founders, the business outline for Bizible developed in conjunction with researching employee benefits.

“Building a company that enables their employees to have a family was a priority from day one,” he says.

Although offering benefits helps Bizible stay competitive, Bird and his co-founders also believe it’s simply the right thing to do.

“My co-founder had a family with two kids when we started, and I now have a wife and baby,” Bird says. “We also have a very generous PTO and maternity leave policy for the same reasons around supporting growing families.”

GeekWire Resources Fuel Success

As a startup Bizible had just seven employees by the end of its second year, but with backing from Madrona Venture Group and ScaleVP it continues to grow strong and now tops out at 85 employees. “We are growing fast and hiring across all departments,” Bird adds.

He notes that being a member of GeekWire has definitely helped fuel that success.

“GeekWire is amazing and a critical component to not only our benefits program, but also our ability to recruit top talent,” Bird says. “They have done an amazing job bringing together the Seattle tech community and giving us a hub to gather around.”

GeekWire hosts multiple events throughout the year that bring together thousands of people from the technology community, from educational events like the Cloud Tech Summit to formal recognition events and full-on parties, like the GeekWire Awards and GeekWire Bash.

Not only do GeekWire members receive special rates and VIP access to these events, but they also have access to its exclusive Health Alliance for Technology Health Trust, better known as ALLtech.

Health Benefits Exclusively for GeekWire Members

GeekWire partnered with ALLtech in an effort to help its growing member technology companies recruit and retain top talent with access to comprehensive, affordable health and wellness benefits. The program is available to Washington state-based companies with up to 199 employees.

Bird attests that the decision to enroll in ALLtech has worked for Bizible: “We looked at every option for employee benefits and ALLtech was not only very competitively priced, but it also offered the most coverage including Swedish, which was critical to our employee base.”

Benefits available through the ALLtech plan include:

  • Medical from Regence BlueShield (Western Washington) and Asuris Northwest Health (Eastern Washington)
  • Dental from Delta Dental of Washington
  • Vision from VSP Vision Care Inc.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) from Magellan Health Services
  • Life, Disability and AD&D Insurance from The Standard
